A poll worker in Louisville, Ky., allegedly choked a voter, according to the Associated Press. The dispute began when a voter said he didn’t want to cast a ballot in a judicial election, because he didn’t know enough about the candidates, but the poll worker insisted, and then throttled him.

Christmas is less than two months away, so it’s time for my annual Christmas list. I publish it so that my husband and parents get an idea of what I want for Christmas. This has proven to be a great method to both be surprised (I try to have as long a list as possible, so I won’t know exactly what I’m getting) and not be disappointed that nobody can read my mind. The list will grow as I think of new things to add. But note, that this year I want to downscale the type of gifts we exchange with friends, so let’s put a maximum amount of $35 per person. We have our number in the National Do Not Call list, so when I received a telemarketing call this morning, I wanted to know who the company calling me was. They said the name was National Information Network based on Burbank California. They wouldn’t give me an address or telephone number, so I asked them if they were scammers. The first time they said yes, and as I couldn’t believe my ears, I asked again, and they hang up on me! I guess it was too much honesty.
So now you are warned, if you get a call from a company calling itself the National Information Network, you know it’s a scam.
